Georges Zissis, born in Athens in 1964 he got his PhD in 1990 on plasma science from Toulouse 3 University.

He is full professor in the Electrical Engineering Dept of Toulouse 3 University and he is working the domain of Light Sources Science and Technology. Prof Zissis is director of the Lumière & Matière Research Group of LAPLACE Laboratory.

Prof Zissis won in December 2006 the 1st Award of the International Electrotechnical Committee (IEC) Centenary Challenge for his work on normalization for urban lighting systems. In 2009 he got the Fresnel Medal of the French Illuminating Engineering Society and he won the Energy Globe Award for France.

Honorary doctorate from the University of St. Petersburg (Russia) since 2011.

Marc Fontoynont is Professor at the ENTPE National Engineering School of State Public Works in Lyon, France and Head of the Building Sciences Laboratory.

He is also Vice-President of the International Lighting Commission (Vienna, Austria), First Vice-President of the French Lighting Association (Paris, France) and Vice-President and co-founder of the Cluster Lumière (Lyon, France).

He has been working for about 30 years in lighting and daylighting optimization, starting in Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, California. He focuses on energy efficient schemes, with integrating energy concern, life cycle cost reduction, improved user satisfaction. He is recipient of the Fresnel Medal and the Alfred Monnier Lighting Award.

He is now Operating Agent of the Solid state Lighting Annex of the IEA (International Energy Agency), 4E Implementing Agreement , aiming at improving reliability of tests of quality and performance of SSL worldwide.
